Why Lake Dallas homeowners are trading in their old strands
For most families, holiday lights mean a trip to the attic, a couple of dead strands, a wobbly ladder and a cold afternoon on the roof. Six weeks later you're doing it all backwards. Permanent lights go up one time. From then on they're part of the house, and you change the colors in the app.
Lake Dallas history runs back to the water. The town was first called Garza and was renamed Lake Dallas after the reservoir that's now Lewisville Lake was built. The city still tells visitors to "Get hooked on Lake Dallas." Each summer, Lake Dallas City Park hosts the Lake Cities 4th of July, when Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores come together for a parade, live music and one of the biggest fireworks shows around. With your lights already on the house, you're ready for that night, for Christmas and for everything in between.
Made for how Lake Dallas celebrates
- Everybody in Lake Dallas is zoned to Lake Dallas High School, so plenty of folks keep a green, grey and white Falcons design ready for football season and homecoming.
- The week of the Fourth, go red, white and blue leading up to the parade and fireworks at City Park.
- For the winter holidays, some families go multicolor and some go straight red and green. A crisp white looks good on cold nights by the lake, too.
- St. Patrick's green, orange and purple for Halloween, and warm gold in the fall. The rest of the year, a soft white is nice when you're sitting out on the porch.
You can line up twelve months of schedules ahead of time. Choose from 16 million colors, or set the white anywhere from a soft 1800K to a bright 6800K.
Homes we light in Lake Dallas
Lake Dallas is a smaller town where people know each other, and the homes are a real mix. Plenty of them are a short drive from the shoreline and the marina.
- Near Lewisville Lake and Lakeview Marina, it's nice to pull into a lit-up driveway on a summer evening after a day on the water.
- In the established neighborhoods, a single-story ranch or traditional house looks warm and finished at night with a soft glow across the front.
- Newer two-story homes. The high spots you'd never trust a ladder for get lit too, and you never have to go up there.
- Homes near Swisher Road and the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge toward Little Elm. If you commute across the lake, the house is lit and waiting when you get back.
Have an HOA? Mention it on your estimate request and we'll talk it through with you.
How it works
- Request your free estimate. Tell us about your home on the Free Estimate page.
- Get your custom quote. Price depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, the number of stories, and which sides of the house you want covered.
- Pick your install date. Install dates are booked in the order estimates are approved, so the earlier you request, the more dates you'll have before Christmas.
- Light it up. Download the app and run the house from your phone, with presets for every holiday or your own custom designs.

Lake Dallas permanent lighting FAQ
Can I do red, white and blue for the 4th?
Yes. Schedule it to come on before the Lake Cities celebration at City Park, and have it go back to your everyday look once the fireworks are over.
Can I show some Falcons pride on the house?
Of course. Build a green, grey and white design once, save it, and schedule it for fall game nights.
What does it cost?
There isn't one set price. Your quote depends on how much of the roofline you want lit, how many stories the house has and which sides you'd like covered. A free estimate tells you what yours will be.
Will I see them during the day?
Probably not. The track is color-matched to the trim on your house, so most people don't know they're there until evening.
Can the rest of my family control them?
Yes. Everyone in the family can use the app and save designs of their own.
Are the lights under warranty?
They are. You're covered by a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
When should I book to have them up for Christmas?
Get your request in early. We hand out install dates in the order estimates get approved, so a request sent early gets first pick of the dates.
Do you install outside Lake Dallas?
Yes. We install all around the Lake Cities and well beyond. Send your address along with your estimate request.
Ready to get started?
