Permanent Lighting in The Colony
Lights for every holiday and every Cougars game, and they never come down. We put permanent color-changing LED lights on homes in The Colony. They stay up all year. In daylight you'll barely notice them, and at night your phone turns them on in whatever color you like. Our office isn't far away, in Denton.
Control with the click of a button
With BlueHopper, you have the superpower of controlling lights! Available on both iOS & Android, BlueHopper is an incredibly user-friendly app with all the powerful features, even for those who are not tech-savvy.
Start by choosing a preset design, or easily customize your own and schedule it. It's that easy!

Why homeowners in The Colony are choosing permanent lights
Regular Christmas lights are a chore. You pull them out of the attic, find the one dead strand and climb onto the roof. After New Year's you do it all again backward. A permanent system goes in once, and after that your phone handles it.
People in The Colony go big for the holidays. Holiday in the Park at Perryman Park is a long-running tradition. The Parade of Lights rolls down Blair Oaks to the Five Star Complex, and the city puts on its Christmas Spectacular light show too. With permanent lights your house is lit every night of the season, and the ladder stays where it is.
Made for how The Colony celebrates
- Black and gold for The Colony High Cougars on game nights. Leave it up all of homecoming week if you want.
- During Parade of Lights season, try red and green, icy blue and white, or a twinkle that goes along with the city's light show.
- Memorial Day and the Fourth, when the lake parks fill up, call for red, white and blue.
- On a normal night, a soft white looks good and lights the walk up to the front door.
Everything can be scheduled up to twelve months ahead. Set a holiday once and it comes back on its own. There are 16 million colors, plus whites from a golden 1800K to a bright 6800K.
Homes we light in The Colony
The Colony has about 23 miles of shoreline on Lewisville Lake, with older streets and newer planned communities side by side.
- The Tribute, the master-planned community on a Lake Lewisville peninsula, with single-family homes, golf villas and townhomes. Your colors are easy to spot on a drive through the neighborhood.
- Stewart Peninsula, the older lake and golf neighborhood. The lights blend in by day, so the house looks like it always has.
- Austin Ranch, the big Billingsley community where The Colony meets Lewisville and Carrollton. At night the house looks finished instead of dark.
- Long-standing neighborhoods near Main Street (FM 423) and the city parks. With the roofline lit, an older house looks fresh again after sundown.
A lot of neighborhoods in The Colony have an HOA. Have an HOA? Mention it on your estimate request and we'll talk it through with you.
How it works
- Request your free estimate. Tell us about your home on the Free Estimate page.
- Get your custom quote. Price depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, the number of stories, and which sides of the house you want covered.
- Pick your install date. Install dates are booked in the order estimates are approved, so the earlier you request, the more dates you'll have before Christmas.
- Light it up. Download the app and run the house from your phone, with presets for every holiday or your own custom designs.

The Colony permanent lighting FAQ
Can I do Cougars black and gold?
Absolutely. Save it as a preset for Friday nights and homecoming. One tap brings back your usual look.
Do you install in The Tribute?
Yes. We install all over The Colony, Stewart Peninsula and Austin Ranch included. Have an HOA? Mention it on your estimate request and we'll talk it through with you.
How much would it be for my house?
Each house is quoted on its own, based on how much roofline you want lit, how many stories it has, and which sides you want covered. The fastest way to know is the free estimate.
Can I still do regular Christmas colors?
Yes. Multicolor, all white, and red and green are saved as presets. Once the holidays wrap up, you just choose something new.
Can you see them in the daytime?
Mostly not. The track matches your trim, so you won't really see it until the lights are on.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. The lights are backed by a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
Can more than one person run them?
Yes. Anyone in the family can use the app and keep their own favorites.
Do you install outside The Colony?
Yes. We install all around the lake and well beyond The Colony. Send your address with your estimate request and we'll follow up.
Ready to get started?
Let the Parade of Lights be the only December plan you have to make. Get your free estimate in early so there are plenty of install dates to pick from.
