Permanent Lighting in Lakeway
Your Lakeway house, lit for the holidays and every night after. Inception Lighting installs permanent color-changing LED lights on Lakeway homes. We're a Denton company, and we make the drive out to the lake to install. The lights stay up through every season. In daylight they mostly disappear, and in the evening you turn them on from your phone and choose whatever colors you want.
Control with the click of a button
With BlueHopper, you have the superpower of controlling lights! Available on both iOS & Android, BlueHopper is an incredibly user-friendly app with all the powerful features, even for those who are not tech-savvy.
Start by choosing a preset design, or easily customize your own and schedule it. It's that easy!

Why Lakeway homeowners are going permanent
A lot of Lakeway homes sit on hillsides, and some have a long drop off the back toward a canyon or the lake. Climbing around on a house like that to hang Christmas lights isn't anybody's idea of a good weekend. Paying a crew to put temporary lights up each fall gets old too, and somebody still has to take them down later.
Permanent lights get installed one time. After that, you change colors and schedules in the BlueHopper app.
Lakeway really gets into December. The city's Lights On! night opens the Trail of Lights behind City Hall, with Santa and Mrs. Claus, live music and s'mores, and the trail stays open in the evenings through the end of the year. The city also puts together Light Up Lakeway, an online map of homes and businesses that decorate. With permanent lights, your house is ready to go on that map the night the season starts.
Made for how Lakeway celebrates
- Lake Travis High football in the fall. Cavaliers families can put the house in red, black and silver for game week.
- Christmas colors from Lights On! through New Year's Day, or a classic warm white if that's more your style.
- Blue and white for Hanukkah. Lakeway lights a menorah in front of City Hall each year.
- Red, white and blue for the Fourth, when the lake is full of boats.
- A soft white the rest of the year. It gives the front of the house a warm glow and lights the way up the drive.
You can plan up to twelve months of schedules in the app at once. There are 16 million colors to choose from, and whites go from a warm 1800K up to a cool 6800K.
Homes we light in Lakeway
Lakeway grew up around the lake and its golf courses, so the neighborhoods have their own feel.
- Rough Hollow, with its private marina on Lake Travis and big custom homes. A lit house here looks good from the water and from the road.
- Flintrock Falls, built around a Nicklaus-designed course, with estate homes under the old oaks. Owners here usually want the lights out of sight in the daytime, and the color-matched track helps with that.
- The Hills, the village right next door around Hills Country Club, with established homes on wooded lots.
- Serene Hills and Lakeway Highlands, where newer homes sit close to greenbelts and trails.
- The older streets of Lakeway closer to the water, where established homes sit on bigger, wooded lots.
Many Lakeway neighborhoods have an HOA, and some are gated. Have an HOA? Mention it on your estimate request and we'll talk it through with you.
How it works
- Request your free estimate. Tell us about your home on the Free Estimate page.
- Get your custom quote. Price depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, the number of stories, and which sides of the house you want covered.
- Pick your install date. Install dates are booked in the order estimates are approved, so the earlier you request, the more dates you'll have before Christmas.
- Light it up. Download the app and run the house from your phone, with presets for every holiday or your own custom designs.

Lakeway permanent lighting FAQ
Can my house be lit in time for Lights On!?
It can, if we've installed before then. Schedule your Christmas design to come on that night and keep it going until New Year's. Since install dates are booked in the order estimates are approved, an early request helps.
Will the lights look right on a house facing the lake?
That's up to you, and it's easy to change. Some folks go with warm white for the view from the water, and others save a bold Christmas look for the season.
What's the price on a Lakeway home?
It depends on how much of the roofline you want lit, how many stories there are, and which sides of the house you'd like covered. Request a free estimate and you'll see your price.
Can people tell they're there during the day?
Not easily. The track is color-matched to your trim, so the house keeps its usual look until the lights come on.
Can the whole family control the lights?
Yes. Anyone in the family can use it and save their own designs, including Cavaliers colors for game day.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Lakeway homes get a 5-year manufacturer's warranty on the lights.
Do you install around Lakeway, too?
We do. We install all around Lakeway and well beyond. Your Lakeway address on the estimate request is all we need to start.
Ready to get started?
Let the house handle the decorating this season while you enjoy the Trail of Lights. Send in your free estimate request early for the best choice of install dates.
