Permanent Lighting in Murphy
Murphy homes can have holiday lights all year with nobody climbing the roof. Inception Lighting installs permanent color-changing LED lights on houses in Murphy. They stay up. Most people won't pick them out during the day, and when evening comes you choose the colors in an app and switch them on.
Control with the click of a button
With BlueHopper, you have the superpower of controlling lights! Available on both iOS & Android, BlueHopper is an incredibly user-friendly app with all the powerful features, even for those who are not tech-savvy.
Start by choosing a preset design, or easily customize your own and schedule it. It's that easy!
Why Murphy homeowners are switching
Murphy has the feel of a calm, tidy suburb. Wrestling with tangled strands on a ladder every November doesn't fit that picture. Neither does the trip back up in January, when it's cold and the holidays are over and the lights still have to come down.
Permanent lights take care of that. We install them one time, and after that the decorating is done from your phone. You can try a new color on a Tuesday night just to see how it looks.
Every December, Murphy holds Christmas in the Park at the City Hall complex on North Murphy Road. Kids meet Santa and live reindeer, families make s'mores and ride the snow tube, and the evening wraps up with the lighting of the city's Christmas tree. When your lights are permanent, your house is glowing by the time you get back from it.
Made for how Murphy celebrates
- Murphy kids go to Plano ISD or Wylie ISD, depending on the street. McMillen and Plano East families can go Panthers black and gold. Wylie High families can light up in Pirates maroon and white.
- The night of the city tree lighting is a good time to turn on your Christmas colors. They can stay on through New Year's.
- Red and pink for Valentine's Day, patriotic colors around the Fourth, and a little orange and purple once Halloween gets close.
- On regular evenings, warm white. The house looks finished, and the walk to the front door has some light on it.
The app holds schedules up to twelve months ahead. You get 16 million colors, and whites that go from a mellow 1800K to a bright 6800K.
Homes we light in Murphy
Murphy sits on FM 544 between Plano and Wylie, just a couple of miles from Southfork Ranch. Much of the town was built after the President George Bush Turnpike made the trip west so much easier, and those neighborhoods have grown in nicely since.
- Maxwell Creek North, on the northeast side, close to the Maxwell Creek Trail and its creekside park. Coming home on a dark evening to a lit house is a nice thing.
- Windy Hill Farms and Hunters Landing. Owners there usually want the lights out of sight in daylight, and that's how they look.
- Rolling Ridge Estates, Aviary and Crescent Hill. Color across the front of a two-story shows up well from the street.
- Homes near Murphy Central Park, with its pond and amphitheater, where a warm white goes well with evening walks around the water.
Many Murphy neighborhoods have an HOA. Have an HOA? Mention it on your estimate request and we'll talk it through with you.
How it works
- Request your free estimate. Tell us about your home on the Free Estimate page.
- Get your custom quote. Price depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, the number of stories, and which sides of the house you want covered.
- Pick your install date. Install dates are booked in the order estimates are approved, so the earlier you request, the more dates you'll have before Christmas.
- Light it up. Download the app and run the house from your phone, with presets for every holiday or your own custom designs.

Murphy permanent lighting FAQ
Our street is zoned to Plano ISD, but our friends are in Wylie ISD. Can we pick our own school's colors?
Of course. Your lights, your colors. Set Panthers black and gold, Pirates maroon and white, or anything else, and save each one as a design in the app.
Can my house be lit the night of the city tree lighting?
Yes. Pick your Christmas design and schedule it to come on that evening. You can plan up to twelve months out.
What's a typical price?
Each house prices out on its own. We go by how much of the roofline you'd like lit, how many stories there are, and which sides you want done. A free estimate gives you a real price.
Are the lights obvious in the daytime?
Not much. The track is color-matched to your trim, so most neighbors won't know they're there until they light up.
Can more than one person in our house control the lights?
Yes. Each person in the family can sign in to BlueHopper and keep their own designs.
Do the lights come with a warranty?
Every set of lights has a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
When's the best time to ask for an estimate?
Sooner rather than later. We schedule install dates in the order estimates are approved.
Do you install outside Murphy?
Yes, all around Murphy and well beyond. Tell us the address when you ask for your estimate.
Ready to get started?
You can be done hanging lights for good. Request your free estimate now and you'll have more install dates to choose from before Christmas.
